All rooms have fans and heated bathrooms, fridges, TV (M-Net), hairdryers and tea/coffee making. The property is security fenced, has an automated gate with secure parking, each room has an independent alarm system, coupled with the added security of staff being onsite 24 hours a day, you really can sit back and relax.

At Agulhas House we are delighted to now offer the scuba diver an onsite dedicated dive facility. Just a short stroll through the gardens will take you to our dive centre where our resident Dive Team will ensure your diving experience is pleasurable and fun.

Umkomaas is a mecca for scuba divers and water sports enthusiasts alike. The main diving area is Aliwal Shoal and is rated consistently as one of the top ten diving sites in the world.

Agulhas House is centrally located within walking distance of banks, beach, shops, restaurants, Umkomaas Golf Course and Bowling Green.

An Aliwal baited Shoal shark dive is an exciting and unforgettable experience, you never quite know what or who is going to come cruising through.

Witness the following marine life

From December through to March when the waters at its warmest is the time when you are most likely to see Tiger sharks on a shark dive.

At other times of the year you may will have an opportunity to encounter Black Tips, Hammer Heads and other surprise pelagic visitors that happen to be cruising the Shoal at that time. It is not unheard of for divers to report seeing the odd Great White cruising in the distance.

All rooms are decorated and furnished in neutral tones to create a relaxed, luxurious and comfortable atmosphere. Our lodge accommodates up to 28 people in a mix of double, twin or family suites. All of our rooms are en-suite and are equipped with fans, TV, hairdryer, fridge, tea and coffee making facilities. 12 of rooms have air conditioning.

This extensive property has landscaped gardens to the front and back and two pools with plenty of space for sitting back and enjoying the Durban sunshine in peace and quiet.

A full breakfast service is offered served ‘al fresco’ under our thatched gazebo.

Braai (BBQ) facilities are available should you wish to try some traditional South African cooking under the stars, we will assist in any way we can.

We also offer the following services; secure parking, WIFI, safes in all rooms and laundry services (on request).

A range of restaurants, shops and banks can be found within walking distance of Agulhas House. You can enjoy a game of golf at Umkomaas Golf course and other great courses all within a relatively short drive.

Durban city centre is about a 30 minute drive from the guest house.

We can arrange tours of Durban, UShaka Marine World, and other local attractions. Half and full day trips to local game reserves and Zulu cultural villages and attractions can be arranged.
