Your PADI Open Water Diver course at Jan Thiel Diving will take only 2,5 days. Our team of PADI Dive Instructors teach in 4 different languages. During the 2,5 days you will do 4 Open Water dives on our beautiful reefs. Moreover, Confined Water skills will be practised in our swimmingpool, right here on our property. The theoretical part of this course can be done through E-Learning (or from a book), which can be done even before your holiday starts. Remaining theory will be taught during the course.

Introduction Dive

The introduction dive is a 3 hour fun, beautiful and memorable experience at Curacao. One of our PADI professionals will give you a brief theory session, including an explanation about the dive equipment, the rules of diving and the underwater world. This course is a quick and simple learn to dive program.

In shallow pool like conditions you will perform 3 skills in a protected bay, after which you will explore one of the stunning reefs. Here you will see beautiful corals, many different fish and other under water creatures. After this, you might find scuba diving your new passion and you will be just as addicted as us!

Training Courses PADI - Advanced Open Water Diver

PADI Advanced Open Water Course

During your Advanced Open Water Diver course you will do 5 different Adventure Dives. The Deep Dive and the Underwater Navigation Dive are mandatory (the Peak Performance Bouyancy Dive is highly recommended). The other Adventure Dives you will select with guidance of one of our PADI Instructors. The 5 Adventure Dives are a lot of fun and you will develop different capabilities. After this course you will be certified to dive to a maximum depth of 30m / 100ft.

We start our PADI Advanced Open Water Diver courses each Tuesday, Thursday or Sunday. When you make a reservation you can plan your first day / dives and the second day we be planned in consultation with our instructors.

During your PADI Rescue Diver course you will practise problem solving skills and learn how to become a better buddy. You will be practising in the beautiful bay of Blue Bay, right in front of our dive school. The PADI Rescue Diver course prepares you to deal with dive emergencies, minor and major, using a variety of techniques. Through knowledge development and rescue exercises, you learn what to look for and how to respond. Topicss vary from self-rescue, stress management to rescuing an unresponsive diver.

This is the most thrilling and exciting course there is; we will teach you all skills needed to be really really comfortable and as much as you can handle.

The theoretical part of this course can be done by E-Learning.

Every morning it is possible to do a 2 tank dive trip with us. We can go with our van to every dive location that can be reached from the shore. The wreck 'The Tugboat', which is only 5 min drive or the beautiful and many corals at 'Directors Bay'. Also the beautiful and almost extraterrestrial environment of "Carpile" is definitely recommended! Or do you want to join us on a full day trip to the west side of the island? You name it, we'll take you there! Start with fantastic coral reefs with a wide variety of different species of fish, turtles, lobsters, rays and other animals. All our trips are with small groups so we can give a lot of personal attention so that you will not get bored and have fun experiences in the one we love the most: diving on Curacao

Guided tours PADI - Adventure Diver

1 Tank guided Wreck Dive 'Superior Producer'

The wreck of the Superior Producer in Curacao is one of the most popular wreck dives in the former Dutch Caribbean. The ship which was a small freighter that sank just outside the harbor of the island. If you love diving shipwrecks, this is definitely one that you need to add to your must-see list. The Superior Producer sank in September of 1977 outside the busy port of Willemstad. The ship was headed towards Isla Margarita in Venezuela. It was filled with alcohol and clothes, which would be used for the upcoming Christmas shopping season.

But because the seas were rough and there was far too much heavy cargo on the ship that ended up shifting out of place, it became impossible for it to stay afloat. Just a little while after the ship set sail the ship began to sink quickly on an even keel.

While this may seem like a tragedy, the people on shore were actually overjoyed because they were able to essentially take everything that they could recover from the cargo on the ship. People donned the clothes and drank up all of the alcohol that did not go down with the Superior Producer.

The story goes that the people who recovered the clothes from the ship gave this to the islanders who really needed it who used the jeans, shirts a for years to come.

What differs this from our other tours is that in this tour, you have the option to go snorkel and/or dive at one of our beautiful beaches at the west side. When on location, all locations of Jan Thiel Diving B.V. accept: Visa, Mastercard, Maestro debit cards or Cash in American Dollars or the Curacao local currency.

TIP:

Tips are not included in the price, so if you enjoyed the trip/dive make sure you show your appreciation by leaving a tip. Tip suggestion is 5 to 15% of the booked value of the activity.

RECONFIRMATION:

It is not necessary to re-confirm your reservations. Once you have paid in full you will receive the ticket for your seat on our boat/dive. That will guarantee your spot for the trip you have chosen. If you wish to upgrade your trip you could do this by contacting us with the provided e-mail address that is on your voucher.

CANCELLATION POLICY:

Flex rate: When booked the Flex rate you have the possibility to change your tour date after booking the activity. For rebooking you must contact Jan Thiel Diving B.V. by sending an e-mail with your rebooking request. Note that all rebookings are the same activity, be aware that not all activities have daily schedules or availability. Tour cancellation within 24 hours will be charged in full.
Jan Thiel Diving B.V. is not responsible if the desired date does not have availability.

Non-Refundable or tours that are not having the Flex option: Tour cancellation within 60 days before the activity will be eligible for free rebooking. All bookings are non-refundable, only management has the ability to make an exception. Exceptions could only be made by management in case of critical circumstances of a proven medical type emergency.

No-Show or late arrival: When not arriving or arriving late we cannot guarantee your participation in the tour or activity, there are no refunds and your booking will be charged in full.

Please note that tours could be canceled by the tour operator due to unforeseen circumstances, in this case, the deposit will be refunded by Jan Thiel Diving B.V.

REFUND POLICY:

All deposits are non-refundable, if tour is eligible for rebooking the deposit will be used for the rebooked activity. In the unlikely event of bad weather, technical problems or any circumstance on behalf of Jan Thiel Diving B.V. or its charters that your trip/dive would be canceled, you will receive a full refund. The Captain/Divemaster/Instructor has the right to cancel any dive/trips due to weather conditions.
