Meet Our Owner

Our owner, Jamal Nibourette, is a 40-year-old businessman from Seychelles. Prior to being a licensed scuba instructor, he was teaching and traveling as a tennis instructor. Even though he has taught tennis pretty much all his life, diving was always alongside mostly for fun and as a part-time profession. As a child, his dream was to become a marine biologist or a marine conservationist. Now, he is happy teaching scuba diving.

How We Started

Our business began from scratch. Our owner, Jamal, started with having a few scuba gears and teaching friends for free during the weekend. His friends then referred him to their friends, so he decided to start stocking up on equipment and eventually bought a boat.

Then the time came that the house became too small to store all the diving gear and essentials, so our owner had to make it official. He got himself a dive center business license as well as a PADI instructor license, rented a little place by the sea, left his tennis coaching job, and the rest is history. At present, Jamal has been teaching diving lessons for more than 6 years.

Our Mission

Our mission is to introduce scuba diving to as many locals as possible and put Hawksbill Dive Center on the map. We welcome the opportunity to earn your trust and deliver you the best diving lessons available.

What you will learn during the PADI scuba diver course?

The main goal of the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course is to increase your scuba knowledge and your confidence under the water.

You will learn more about the psychological effects of deep diving and how to stay safe when you descend below 18 meters.

You will also learn about how to navigate underwater correctly. Each specialty that you choose will involve one dive which can later be put towards the individual specialty courses if you wish.

Who can start the PADI advanced open water diver course?

If you think, this scuba course sounds like fun you will need to be a certified PADI Open Water Diver (or the equivalent from a different dive school) and be 15 years or older.

If you are between 12 and 15, you can take the PADI Junior Advanced Open Water Course which is very similar but has limited choices when it comes to your specialties.
