The Reason for the Marine Park

In addition, these islands offer safe havens for a variety of land animals, including mammals, reptiles, and birds. The rainforests of the islands within the Tarutao National Marine Park are beautifully pristine environments that are essential to the survival of a large variety of animals.

The Marine Park is meant to protect not only the islands themselves, but also the beaches and coral reefs that surround the many islands within the park’s borders.
