Europe is surrounded by beautiful water and exotic locations where you can see many different environments. For tropical vacations or even rugged mountain climbing, Europe has it all. Thanks to beautiful waters such as the Mediterranean Sea, there are many great destinations for you to enjoy when diving, and these are our top 5 diving locations in Europe.

Dive Tenerife

If you are new to scuba diving, then Tenerife is a great place for you to gain experience however even experienced divers can have a lot of fun here. The waters are warm, which makes it ideal, and to add to the excitement of diving in pristine waters, there is the shipwreck of the Condesito that is only 3 kilometres from the Las Galletas harbour.

This is a great shipwreck to enjoy diving at, since it is filled with underwater life such as moray eels and trumpet fish that can grow to over one metre in size! If you want to dive a little deeper, you can even see tuna, black coral and Atlantic rays. There is a lot for you to explore since the hull, cabin and engine room are left completely intact.

Kilkee, Ireland

Heading into cooler waters, the Diamond Rocks in Kilkee, Ireland is one of the most popular diving locations in Europe. Not only are there shipwrecks for you to explore but there are also beautiful quartz rocks that glisten in the water, which is how Diamond Rocks gets its name. Setting out from Intrinisic Bay, you will be able to see an underwater reef near a deep valley 30 metres deep.

Costa Brava

Considered to be one of the best diving locations in Spain, Costa Brava located just off of the Medas Islands is a great diving location. There is plenty of ocean life for you to see, such as groupers that grow up to four or five feet, and even barracudas. There are also plenty of shipwrecks for you to explore in the Cap de Creus Natural Park.

Malta

Off the cost of Malta, you will be in for some of the best diving you could ever hope to experience. There are a large amount of shipwrecks that you can explore, many of which have been specifically sunk by the government to give divers even more to explore in the surroundings of Malta’s beautiful waters. One of the more popular shipwrecks is a military patrol boat as well as a wreck that resulted from a terrible explosion in the dry-docks in 1995.

Cyprus

One of the best locations in all of Europe to go diving is the beautiful and clear waters off the coast of Cyprus. Not only do you have crystal clear waters, but one thing that makes this site such a big draw is the fact it is one of the few places in the world where you can dive with sea turtles. There are also shipwrecks to explore, as well as possible sightings of stingrays, eel and octopus!
